The Strengthening and Expanding Income Generation for Women Fish Vendors in the Banaadir Region project,
led by LM International, was designed to empower 30 women fish vendors through a comprehensive training
program and the establishment of cooperative businesses. Running from August to Jan 2025, the project aimed
to address key challenges faced by women in the fish market, including limited business skills, low bargaining
power, and poor financial management. By focusing on building essential capacities in business, marketing,
financial management, and hygiene, the project sought to enhance these women’s income generation
opportunities and establish sustainable livelihoods.
